Landscape east of the stream

The land in these two images also belongs to the Ministry of Defence (MoD) and was probably purchased at the same time as the Tweedsmuir Camp site.

When we spoke to a man who lives in Thuesley village he showed us a photograph taken in the 1800s at the Tweedsmuir site before the camp was constructed. It was of a group of women dressed in long skirts walking a small dog on a leash by the stone bridge that spanned the water management canal. Regrettably we were not given permission to publish the photograph.
